NCAA Football betting Saturday: Kansas State vs Texas

Kansas State (2-1) pulled off one of the upsets of the year last season when they knocked off Texas (4-0) while the Longhorns were in the thick of the national championship race. Now Texas will be out for revenge, as the Wildcats visit Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Wildcats lit up Missouri State 61-10 at home last week, as Josh Freeman went 26-for-39 for 287 yards and one touchdown. James Johnson ran for 114 yards and three majors for the Wildcats as the offense rolled up 546 total yards in just over 28 minutes of possession.

The defense also did its part by holding Missouri State to 191 yards, including 91 on the ground. The Wildcats have played well in their two wins since losing to Auburn in their season opener, but the Longhorns are on a different level than the likes of San Jose State and Missouri State. After coming away with a narrow win at Central Florida in Week 3, the Longhorns dismantled Rice 58-14 at home last week by jumping out to a 41-0 lead that they were 18 seconds away from taking into halftime. QB Colt McCoy was 20-for-29 for 333 yards and three touchdowns for the Longhorns, who put up 560 yards of total offense. The defense shut down Rice's ground game to the tune of -11 rushing yards, but they will have their hands full with Kansas State's rushing attack this week.

The Longhorns are 14.5-point home betting favorites this weekend. McCoy will be especially eager to avenge last year's loss to the Wildcats as he was injured in that game, which ended Texas' title hopes. But the Wildcats have a lot of players back from last season who remember that game, so they will not be intimidated and could power K-State to make this game closer than most think it will be.
