College Football Odds - Music City Bowl

What: Music City Bowl
Who: Kentucky (7-5) vs. Florida State (7-5)
Where: The Coliseum, Nashville, Tenn.
When: Monday, 4 p.m.
WagerWeb.com line: No line as of writing

The Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference take on the extremely shorthanded Florida State Seminoles of the ACC. The line on this game has fluctuated wildly since 36 FSU players were suspended and was off the board at WagerWeb.com as of this writing. However, it is likely to be Kentucky -10 when active.

Taking the hardest hit will be an FSU defense that already has its hands full with quarterback Andre' Woodson and the high-powered Kentucky offense.

Mickey Andrews' squad will have its four leading tacklers but will be without starting strong-side linebacker Dekoda Watson and his backup, sophomore Marcus Ball. Also missing will be standout cornerback Patrick Robinson.

The defensive line is FSU's biggest question mark: It will be without five scholarship defensive lineman who contributed this season, including starting tackle Budd Thacker, starting defensive end Neefy Moffett,
and key reserves Letory Guion, Paul Griffin and Justin Mincey.

"We're going to have to play with what we have," defensive coordinator Andrews said. "Some kids will have to play better than they ever have."The offensive line also took a hit and will be without starters Daron Rose and Jacky Claude, and starting tight end Charlie Graham and his backup, Caz Piurowski.

Kentucky could be missing one key player: receiver Keenan Burton was given a 50-50 chance of playing.

The star wideout has a knee injury and will be a game-time decision.

"I would say it's 50-50," coach Rich Brooks said Saturday. "If he doesn't swell from what he did today, then he'll probably play in the game."

Burton leads the Wildcats with 59 receptions and is second in receiving yards (685) and touchdown catches (nine). He was a finalist for this year's Biletnikoff Award, presented to the nation's top receiver.

The man throwing to Burton is the true star for UK, which scored 440 points during the regular season, the most points ever posted by the program. Woodson completed 63 percent of his passes for 3,351 yards and 36 touchdowns against 10 interceptions.

As for the ground attack, Rafael Little boasts 861 yards and three touchdowns.

Kentucky's weakness is a defense that allows nearly 30 points and 400 yards per game.

FSU has struggled on the offensive side of the ball again this season, averaging 22.9 ppg and 360.2 total ypg. The Seminoles averaged only 121.2 rushing ypg on an average of 3.5 yards per attempt, with Antone Smith the leading carrier with 663 yards.

QB Drew Weatherford has completed 58.9 percent of his passes for 1,773 yards with eight touchdowns and has only been intercepted once in 270 pass attempts.

Preston Parker, the team's second-leading rusher, is tops among all receivers with 54 catches for 686 yards.

FSU coach Bobby Bowden has a 20-9-1 career record in bowl games but is just 5-6 the past 11 years. Kentucky is looking to win back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 1950-51.

Prediction: Too many players missing for FSU. Kentucky wins 27-24.
