NCAA Football Odds - LSU against Alabama on Saturday

The first installment of the"Saban Bowl"will take place on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium, where Alabama coach Nick Saban will lead his No. 17 Crimson Tide (6-2) out against No. 3 LSU (7-1), the school that Saban led to the 2003 NCAA title.

The LSU defense could be the deciding factor in this huge SEC clash, as they are second in the nation in total defense behind Ohio State, ranking in the top five in both rush and pass defense. The LSU offense is 27th in the country with much of their production coming from their 12th-ranked ground game, which features contributions from a variety of players. The Crimson Tide has won three straight since falling to Florida State, and they are coming off of a 41-17 thumping of a very good Tennessee team. Saban has his team protecting the ball, as Alabama ranks 11th in turnover margin.

The Crimson Tide will be looking to end a four-game losing skid against the Tigers. LSU is favored by a 7-point spread on the road in this key contest with both conference and national title implications.
