NCAA Football Betting: Kentucky vs Georgia

The No. 22 Kentucky Wildcats (7-3) have cooled off after a hot start to the season, but they can still remain in contention for the SEC East title when they play No. 8 Georgia (8-2) at Sanford Stadium.

The Wildcats were outplayed last week at Vanderbilt, committing 13 penalties and only holding the ball for 24 minutes. But they managed to come away with a 27-20 win after a late touchdown run from Derrick Locke. Andre Woodson was 17-for-28 for 222 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats, who showed more balance in the offense than they usually do.

Georgia forced four turnovers in a 45-20 rout of Auburn at home last weekend, picking off Tigers' quarterback Brandon Cox four times. Matthew Stafford went 11-for-19 for 237 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Bulldogs, who raced out to an early 17-3 lead and never looked back. The Bulldogs are 7.5-point home betting favorites in this SEC clash, as they should have gained some confidence from dominating a very tough Auburn team. Georgia also has a distinct advantage over Kentucky in recent meetings, taking 14 of their last 16 meetings with the Wildcats.

The Wildcats are having some trouble against the run this season, and Georgia freshman running back Knowshon Moreno has rushed for more than 100 yards in four straight games. But the Kentucky offense knows how to handle itself in a shootout, so look for an uncharacteristically high score for an SEC game. Georgia can put a stranglehold on the SEC title with a victory this week.
