College Football Lines - LSU at Mississippi

The LSU Tigers can move one step closer to playing for a national championship on Saturday, as long as they don’t follow the season trend and lose to a big underdog, namely the Mississippi Bulldogs.

The Tigers clinched a spot in the SEC championship game last week after crushing Louisiana Tech 58-10 as a 36.5-point favorite. Matt Flynn picked apart the overmatched Louisiana Tech defense while completing 14-of-26 passes for 237 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Flynn also ran in for a score and Jacob Hester led the Tigers with 115 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Terrance Toliver caught three passes for 119 yards, which included a 71-yard touchdown reception.Mississippi was off last week and last played on November 3 when they defeated Northwestern State 38-31. Bulldogs quarterback Seth Adams struggled in the win, completing only 7-of-15 passes for 113 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis paced the Bulldogs'offense with 120 yards on 17 carries with three touchdowns. Mississippi was able to defeat Northwestern State despite being outgained by the Demons, 499 yards to 387 yards.

Mississippi gave LSU a scare last season when the Tigers escaped with a 23-20 win as a 28.5-point favorite. LSU has won five straight over Mississippi, with their last loss against the Bulldogs coming back in 2001.

In Saturday’s game the Tigers are a 19-point road favorite.
