Saturday NCAA Football: Bet on Washington St vs USC

The USC Trojans play their first Pac - 10 game on Saturday when the Washington State Cougars visit the Coliseum. The Cougars have been no match for the Trojans in recent years and enter this game having lost their last three contests versus USC. Last season at Washington State the Trojans defeated the Cougars 28-22 as a 14-point favorite.

The Trojans enter this game 2-0 after defeating Nebraska 49-31 last week as a 9.5-point favorite. Quarterback John David Booty completed 19-of-30 passes for 144 yards with a pair of touchdowns in the win. The running game was the biggest weapon though, as USC racked up 313 rushing yards. Stafon Johnson led the team with 144 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while Chauncey Washington had 43 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. The USC defense was ferocious against the run, limiting Nebraska to only 31 yards on the ground, but they also allowed 389 passing yards.

The Cougars are 2-1 on the season after knocking off Idaho 45-28 as a 24.5-point favorite last week. Washington State's lone loss came in their opener, which they lost to Wisconsin 42-21. Against Idaho last week Cougars' quarterback Alex Brink had a huge game with 307 passing yards and four touchdowns. Running back Dwight Tardy also put up solid numbers with 108 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, while Michael Bumpus led all receivers with eight receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

If the Trojans can get past the Cougars on Saturday it would be their 35th straight win at home at the Coliseum. Their last home loss came way back on Sept. 29, 2001 when they fell to Stanford 21-16. USC is a big 25-point favorite in Saturday night's game.
