NCAA Football Week 2: Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska 'Huskers Favorite to Win

NCAA Week 2 is upon us college football fans, and there are a couple of intriguing games that should pique your interest as you fill out your betting slips.

South Carolina at No. 11 Georgia
The Bulldogs will take aim at a top-ten ranking as they host the Gamecocks this weekend, and head coach Steve Spurrier has instilled a confidence at South Carolina which could make them a tough team to beat. The Gamecocks put up 433 yards in Week 1's 28-14 home win over Louisiana-Lafayette, powered by a two-headed combination at quarterback that ended up with 238 yards on 21-for-29 passing, two touchdowns and one interception. However, you would think that Spurrier will have to decide on a single quarterback at some point, and also a concern is a defense that allowed 262 yards on the ground. There is no quarterback controversy at Georgia, where the job is Matthew Stafford's to lose. The talented sophomore was 18-for-24 for 234 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1's 35-14 win over Oklahoma State at home, but Stafford has to avoid the inconsistency that plagued his freshman year. The Bulldogs did well to allow only 70 yards on the ground last week, and this could force the Gamecocks to go through the air if they want to knock off the ranked Bulldogs. Georgia is listed as a 4.5-point home favorite in this SEC contest.

No. 16 Nebraska at Wake Forest
The Cornhuskers are heading to Wake Forest with a lot of momentum due to Week 1's 52-10 romp over Nevada at home. Granted, the Wolf Pack is not a college football power, but wins like this can only boost the confidence of the 'Huskers. Nebraska racked up an amazing 625 yards last week, and Sam Keller was 14-for-25 for 193 yards, one touchdown and a pick. Keller may be able to throw less if Marlon Lucky carries the ball like he did in Week 1. Lucky ran for 233 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries, allowing the 'Huskers to hold the ball for over 40 minutes. The ACC's Demon Deacons fell 38-28 at Boston College in their season opener, committing four turnovers in a sloppy game. Riley Skinner was the main culprit with three interceptions to go with 236 yards and a touchdown on 28-for-37 passing, and the Demon Deacons will not last long in the ACC if they continue to give the ball up to their opponents. The Cornhuskers are listed as 8-point road favorites in this matchup.
